As EVP & Managing Director of NBA Asia, Scott Levy oversees development and expansion of the NBA’s branding and basketball initiatives in Asia excluding Greater China. Levy also directs all of NBA Asia and NBA India’s business groups, including media distribution, marketing partnerships, merchandising, events, marketing, digital media, and e-gaming. Levy reports to NBA Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum.
Since Levy’s arrival in 2009, the league has dramatically expanded its local partnerships resulting in more than 460 retail locations and e-commerce sites, multiple new media and marketing partnerships, the launch of the Jr. NBA across Southeast Asia, and amassing more than 30 million followers from Asia across the league’s social media accounts.
From 2006 to 2009, Levy ran his own consulting company, MJ Global Sports and Media Inc. Levy previously worked for the NBA for 10 years and left as Senior Vice President, International Television and Marketing Partnerships. During Levy’s tenure, he helped grow broadcast distribution for NBA programming to more than 200 countries and 40 languages. Under this leadership, the NBA launched many new content offerings internationally, including NBA TV, the league’s 24-hour network.
Prior to beginning his first NBA stint in 1996, Levy traveled independently and extensively throughout China, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Levy is on the board of the Global Health Society, a nonprofit organization that conducts camps and develops programs for children with bleeding disorders. He has competed in multi-sport and adventure races, including the New York Marathon, Oxfam Japan Trailwalker and many triathlons raising funds for Fred’s Team and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Levy is based in Hong Kong with his wife Ilene and sons Matthew and Joshua.

In 2006, Janis Burke became chief executive officer of the Harris County–Houston Sports Authority and the first woman to hold the position since the inception of the organization in 1997.
In addition to overseeing the $1 billion of bond debt service for Houston’s premier, professional sports stadiums, under her leadership and during her tenure, Houston has been awarded major sporting events including the NCAA Men’s Final Four, Olympic Trials, numerous national and world championships, the AAU Junior Olympics, professional all-star games, the Transplant Games of America, and a variety of elite sporting events.
Burke has been recognized locally by Conference USA and Rice University for her outstanding contributions and achievements as a woman in the Houston sports industry, identified as a Houston “Woman on the Move,” named one of “Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women,” and recognized by numerous others for the impact on the community of the work done by her and the sports authority team.

A driven corporate executive who believes in “being missionary first before being a mercenary”, Nikhil Arora is always looking for avenues where he can make an impact. In a career spanning over two decades and five countries, Nikhil has led several functions including corporate strategy, business development, marketing, finance and operations for various global entities. He has helped launch several new businesses in his tenure at these organizations, and is deeply passionate about grassroots innovation and giving voice to good ideas – wherever they may come from.
Nikhil is currently responsible for leading GoDaddy’s India business, constantly working towards identifying new growth strategies for entrepreneurs and small businesses in the country. Nikhil joined the company in 2017, and since then, has taken the world’s largest internet domain registrar and web hosting company to new summits, bagging the honor of The Economic Times Best Brands 2019 Award, India’s Fastest Growing Companies in 2019 by WCRCINT and NexBrands’ Thought leadership & Brand Innovation Award for two times in a row. His focus is on forging a connection with entrepreneurs as they try to make their way in a fast changing economy, and has become an avid voice for small businesses opening themselves up to digital possibilities. Recent recipient of The Economic Times’ Most Promising Business Leaders of Asia 2019 award, Nikhil has been using press and social media platforms to highlight important ways in which the Indian consumer is changing, and the various resources small businesses have at their disposal today to capture this new market.
Prior to joining GoDaddy India, Nikhil launched and led the Asia and India operations for WeWork, world’s largest provider of shared workspaces and community services, and helped set up its base in the continent. From 2011 to 2017, he served as Managing Director and Vice President, India for Intuit Inc., leading its India business strategy and successfully completing the company’s first global acquisition outside the US market. Nikhil joined Intuit from Laureate Education, where he served as Vice President and Head of Operations and was instrumental in making Laureate the first global player to acquire education assets in the dynamic Indian market. Before coming back to Asia, Nikhil has spent many years in the US and Europe at organizations like ADP, Delphi Automotive, CBS Television and Miramax Films. He earned his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from Hofstra University, New York. Nikhil studied Russian language from Moscow Institute. Apart from work, Nikhil’s abiding passions are fitness and running. Having discovered it a decade ago, running is today an important facet of Nikhil’s physical and mental wellbeing. It helps him right-zone and refocus his mind, while enabling him to constantly push the boundaries of what he’s achieved before.
Nikhil has completed over 30 Full and Half Marathons in India, Asia Pacific, Middle-East, Europe and North America. He has also completed the world’s largest running relay race in Portland, USA, – Hood to Coast - which is a 199-mile team relay event. In 2017-18, he decided to push himself beyond running by completing four triathlons, including two back-to-back IronMan 70.3 races in Dubai and Colombo. He also likes to keep things interesting by participating in extreme fitness events like X Warrior and the Devil’s Circuit. Nikhil now uses his running as a platform for various CSR activities – his own as well as for GoDaddy’s philanthropic arm, GoDaddy Cares. In 2017, he led a team of GoDaddy employees in the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon (ADHM) to support the ‘Save The Children India’ NGO and its cause of ending discrimination against underprivileged children. In an attempt to give back to the running community and as an ode to all the people he leaned on for encouragement and expertise as a beginner himself, since 2018, Nikhil has been participating as an official pacer for Airtel Delhi Half Marathon, helping other marathoners achieve their personal bests.

Winnie is responsible for the tracking and disclosure of Great Eastern’s sustainability performance indicators, which includes its carbon footprint targets. Joel Lavery is a former British Heavyweight Taekwondo Champion and member of the Great Britain Taekwondo team. He began his professional career working in Local Government as a Youth Sports Development Officer, before going on to manage Leisure Services and eventually becoming Head of Strategy and Performance for Culture and Community Services.
Joel joined British Cycling in 2009 as National Partnerships Manager to lead the hugely successful Skyride ‘Inspiration to Participation’ Local Authority partnerships, working with towns and cities across the UK to grow cycling participation. He then took on the role of Head of Partnerships and Major Events, playing a key role in establishing the HSBC UK ‘societal partnership’ with UK Core Cities, as well as overseeing international events like Tour of Britain, Track Cycling and BMX World Cups.
In recent years, Joel developed his consultancy Sporting Impacts where he worked as Policy Advisor to Scottish Government on the 2023 Cycling World Championships and helped develop Birmingham’s Major Sporting Event Strategy. He is now working for the West Midlands Growth Company as Strategic Lead for Major Sporting Events, part of the £24m Business and Tourism Programme investment to boost trade, tourism and investment following on from the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
